Preview: Perry Central Commodores vs. Lanesville Eagles

The Perry Central Commodores will be playing in front of their home fans against the Lanesville Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Perry Central can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Saturday. They snuck past Northeast Dubois with a 47-42 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given Perry Central's disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 293rd, while Northeast Dubois is ranked 132nd).

Meanwhile, Lanesville stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They blew past Orleans 62-36. The victory was nothing new for Lanesville as they're now sitting on six straight.

Lanesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Hadley Crosier led the charge by scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Crosier has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Shelby Allen, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.

Perry Central's victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-14. As for Lanesville, their win was their 16th straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-1.

Perry Central was dealt a bruising 60-21 loss at the hands of Lanesville in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. The contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Perry Central was down 47-10.
