Soccer Game Preview: Lambert vs. Pace Academy

The Lambert Longhorns will head out to square off against the Pace Academy Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matches after big wins in their previous games.

Lambert's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They put the hurt on Forsyth Central with a sharp 4-0 win. Given the Longhorns' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 12th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 281st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Pace Academy won against Creekside on Tuesday with ten goals and they decided to stick to that goal total again on Friday. Pace Academy blew past M.L. King 10-0. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Lambert has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 19 goals over those seven matches. Pace Academy's victory bumped their record up to 6-2.

Lambert came out on top in a nail-biter against Pace Academy when the teams last played back in February of 2024, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for Lambert since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
