Soccer Recap: Santa Clara Comes Up Short

Santa Clara entered their contest against Palo Alto on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Santa Clara Bruins fell 3-1 to the Palo Alto Vikings. The Bruins were not able to make up for their loss to the Vikings from their previous meeting back in January of 2024.

Santa Clara's goal came courtesy of Sheila Begovic, which was the first she's scored this season.

Santa Clara's defeat dropped their record down to 6-3-3. As for Palo Alto, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-3-2.

Santa Clara wasted no time getting back out on the pitch and has already played their next match, a 1-0 loss against Mountain View on the 24th. As for Palo Alto, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 0-0 draw against Los Altos on the 24th.
