Meanwhile, Lowndes faced Etowah in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Tuesday. The Vikings came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 4-1. The victory was nothing new for the Vikings as they're now sitting on seven straight.

Lowndes' win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-11. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for Walton, their win bumped their record up to 31-8.
