Football Game Preview: McIntosh Demons vs. Shields Panthers + Official Tickets

McIntosh is 7-2 against Shields since October of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Demons will look to defend their home field against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (McIntosh has four straight victories, Shields has seven straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

McIntosh barely beat Marengo the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Demons blew past the Panthers 42-18 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Demons, who have now won four contests by 20 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead McIntosh to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brayden Dixon, who threw for 261 yards and four TDs while completing 83.3% of his passes, and also punched in one score on the ground. Dixon is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for four or more in each of the last three games he's played. Julian Barnes was Dixon's top target, picking up 117 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

McIntosh didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited Marengo to a completion percentage of just 23.5%. The team can thank Kyle Reed for the heroic effort on defense: he. McIntosh has been improving in that area: they had allowed a completion percentage of 0.62 earlier this season, but they've only allowed one of 0.62 in their last three games.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Shields took on Millry on Friday. The Panthers were beaten by the Wildcats 42-6. The Panthers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-0.

McIntosh's win bumped their record up to 5-2. As for Shields, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for McIntosh against Shields in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 50-18 victory. Will the Demons repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
