Baseball Recap: Elcho Victorious

Elcho proved they can win big on Friday (they won by 11) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They never let the Goodman-Pembine Patriots get on the board and left with a 2-0 victory. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Patriots: they've now won four in a row.

Not much got past Joshua Eighmy, who gave up just two hits and racked up eight Ks to keep Goodman-Pembine off the board. With that strong performance, Eighmy is now averaging an impressive 5.1 strikeouts per game.

On the hitting side, Elcho's victory was truly a team effort as three different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Braydn Bricko, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple marked the first that Bricko has hit this season.

Elcho now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Goodman-Pembine, their loss dropped their record down to 1-12.

Looking ahead, Elcho will challenge Crandon at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cardinals' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Hornets' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Goodman-Pembine does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
