Summit Shasta came tearing into Thursday's match with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 40.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the University Prep Academy Golden Eagles 55-25. Given the Black Bears' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 371st, while the Golden Eagles are ranked 858th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Summit Shasta pushed their record up to 14-5 with the win, which was their seventh straight on the road.
