Basketball Recap: High School of the Future Comes Up Short

High School of the Future was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 67-9 loss at the hands of the Martin Luther King Cougars. High School of the Future was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Martin Luther King apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, High School of the Future saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Armani Langley posted nine points.

Aeryka Laureano was the offensive standout of the contest as she put up 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of London Harris, who earned 12 points.

High School of the Future's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Martin Luther King, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-7.

High School of the Future wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 loss against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber on the 22nd. Martin Luther King has also already played their next game, a 37-32 victory against Roxborough on the 17th.
