Softball Recap: Bellevue West Comes Up Short

Bellevue West lost against Kearney on Wednesday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Thunderbirds took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bearcats.

Brooklyn Phephles was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Busch, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Bellevue West has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-22 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for Kearney, their record is now 26-12.

Bellevue West does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Kearney, they will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Bellevue East at 4:00 p.m. The Chieftains' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Bearcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
