Basketball Recap: Tuba City Skates Past Rancho Solano Prep with Ease

Tuba City's tournament run continued when they took on Rancho Solano Prep on Friday. The Warriors took their matchup with ease, bagging a 66-31 victory over the Mustangs.

Layla Curtis had a dynamite game, going 11-for-20 on her way to 29 points and three steals. Her big performance that evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least 22 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylinn Acothley, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

Tuba City smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in January.

Despite the loss, Rancho Solano Prep still got an impressive performance from Nenah Brown, who shot 77% from the field en route to 20 points and six boards. Brown is on a roll when it comes to shooting accuracy, as she's posted one of at least 50% in the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

Tuba City now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Rancho Solano Prep, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Tuba City has already played their next contest, a 76-65 win against Valley Christian on the 29th. As for Rancho Solano Prep, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-18 defeat against Xavier College Prep on the 29th.
