Calhoun barely beat Gilmer the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellow Jackets put the hurt on the Bobcats with a sharp 18-2 victory on Tuesday. That looming 18-2 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Yellow Jackets yet this season.

Brooke Williams made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Williams was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. Those two runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Maggy Abernathy and Mori Henderson did most of the damage at the plate: Abernathy went a perfect 4-for-4 with six RBI, three runs, and one stolen base, while Henderson went 2-for-3 with five RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI Abernathy has posted since back in August of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordan Baker, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

Calhoun always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .679. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Calhoun's record now sits at 6-10. As for Gilmer, with the loss, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 13-10.

Calhoun will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bobcats: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
