Soccer Game Preview: Cathedral Catholic vs. Patrick Henry

The Cathedral Catholic Dons will face off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Cathedral Catholic is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering Point Loma just ended the team's three-match winning streak on Tuesday. They and the Pointers finished up their contest with a 1-1 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Cathedral Catholic have been dealt a draw since back in December of 2025.

Their goal came courtesy of Emma Valdivia, who's now up to three this season.

Meanwhile, Patrick Henry had already won five in a row and they went ahead and made it six on Tuesday. They never let the Pilots get on the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Patrick Henry's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked ninth, while Academy of Our Lady of Peace are ranked 156th).

Cathedral Catholic's draw gives them a new season record of 14-5-3. As for Patrick Henry, their win bumped their record up to 12-2-1.
