Soccer Recap: Newark Memorial Takes a Loss

Newark Memorial and Petaluma squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Newark Memorial had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Petaluma Trojans by a score of 2-1. Having soared to a lofty nine goals in the game before, the Cougars couldn't push the score so high this time.

Their goal came courtesy of Amaya Cabrales, who's now up to 29 this season.

Newark Memorial's defeat dropped their record down to 11-5. As for Petaluma, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season.

Newark Memorial does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Petaluma, they didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next game, a 1-0 victory against American on the 21st.
