Volleyball Preview: Greenwood Rangers vs. Andrews Mustangs
The Greenwood Rangers will challenge the Andrews Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greenwood will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
Last Saturday, everything went Greenwood's way against Fort Stockton as Greenwood made off with a 3-0 win.
Greenwood was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-12, 25-21, 25-17.
Meanwhile, Andrews unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Monahans by a score of 3-2. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Loboes 25-18 in the first set.
Andrews actually scored more points across those five sets (101-98), but sadly they still had to settle for second. The match finished with set scores of 18-25, 25-14, 14-25, 26-24, 15-13.
Despite the defeat, Andrews had strong showings from Danlee Fisher, who had 27 digs, and Anah Bueno, who had 13 digs. Fisher has been hot recently, having posted 11 or more digs the last five times she's played.
Greenwood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 16 of their last 18 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 29-7 record this season. As for Andrews, their loss dropped their record down to 27-10.
