Basketball Recap: Laguna Beach Comes Up Short

If Laguna Beach was feeling good fresh off their 49-26 takedown of University last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Laguna Beach Breakers were outmatched by the Capistrano Valley Christian Eagles and fell 46-18. The loss continues a trend for the Breakers in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost three in a row.

Despite the defeat, Laguna Beach saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Iillina Reider posted seven points.

Laguna Beach's loss dropped their record down to 17-9. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, their win ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 6-6.

Laguna Beach wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 53-31 victory against Irvine on the 29th. As for Capistrano Valley Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against NOVA Academy on the 29th.
