Softball Recap: Stephenson Comes Up Short

The matchup between Stephenson and Douglass on Thursday hardly resembled the 1-0 effort from their previous meeting. The Jaguars lost 18-1 to the Astros. The Jaguars just can't catch a break and have now endured three losses in a row.

Stephenson saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Valynncia Johnson, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base. Johnson is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

Stephenson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8-1. As for Douglass, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Stephenson will challenge rival Cedar Grove at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Douglass is set to take on their familiar foe Mt. Zion at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
