Basketball Recap: Acalanes Makes It 21 in a Row on the Road

Acalanes waltzed into their match on Wednesday with four straight wins... but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 76-24 win over the Northgate Broncos. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 43-18.

Northgate lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Ava Nicolas, who posted six points and five boards. Nicolas is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Hana Neuman, who had eight points.

Acalanes' victory was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-1. As for Northgate, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.

Acalanes will venture away from home to challenge Alhambra at 7:00 p.m. on January 22nd. One thing working in Acalanes' favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Northgate, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 55-26 win against College Park on the 17th.
