Basketball Recap: Princeton Takes a Loss

Princeton suffered their closest defeat since November 9, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the North Posey Vikings by a score of 48-45. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Princeton lost, don't look at Ailie Taylor. Despite the final result, she posted 15 points and six rebounds. Taylor has been hot, having posted 15 or more points the last eight times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Raven Jones, who had six points.

Leading North Posey to victory were Mallory Luigs and Alyssa Heath. Luigs went 5 of 12 on her way to 11 points along with six assists and three steals, while Heath dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Luigs has posted since back in January of 2024. Jazalyn Ward was another key player, putting up eight points and six rebounds.

Princeton's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for North Posey, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-3.

Princeton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 52-37 defeat against Danville on the 27th. As for North Posey, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 63-54 loss against Wood Memorial on the 27th.
