Basketball Recap: Linden Lions vs. Stagg Delta Kings
The Linden Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their 12th straight loss. They took a serious blow against Stagg, falling 77-25. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Linden in their matchups with the Delta Kings: they've now lost six in a row.
Jameelah Pharms was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 40 points and 13 steals for Stagg. That makes it six consecutive games in which Pharms has scored at least a third of Stagg's points. Kayla Ogle was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 18 rebounds.
Linden dropped their record down to 1-26 with that loss, which was their sixth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 23.0 points per game. As for Stagg, the win (which was their 13th in a row) raised their record to 18-9.
Linden will head out on the road to take on the Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Weston Ranch is coming into the game on a five-game losing streak. As for Stagg, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Titans at 6:30 p.m. Hopefully Chavez focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday.
