Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Springfield walked away with it. They had just enough and edged out the Lincoln Railsplitters 2-1 on Thursday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Springfield has posted since May 13th.

Springfield's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Connor Borah, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

The win made it two in a row for Springfield and bumps their season record up to 16-19. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Lincoln, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 22-11.

Looking ahead, Springfield will challenge Sacred Heart-Griffin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Cyclones' pitching crew has only allowed 3.5 runs per game this season, so Springfield's hitters will have their work cut out for them. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
