Softball Game Preview: Fox Warriors vs. Lindbergh Flyers

The Fox Warriors will face off against the Lindbergh Flyers at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Fox 3.6, Lindbergh 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Fox fought the good fight in their extra-innings game against Parkway West on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Longhorns by a score of 5-4. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Kara Huffman made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Breanna Bone also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Lindbergh ultimately got the result they hoped for on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Cor Jesu Academy 6-4. The Flyers haven't had any issues with the Chargers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Lindbergh's victory bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Fox, their loss dropped their record down to 9-5.
