Softball Recap: Albany Triumphs

Albany proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by ten) and on Saturday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Benton Cardinals, sneaking past 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Warriors have posted since September 25th.

Albany saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jayden Hillyard, who went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

Albany's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Benton, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Albany didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 5-4 defeat against Trenton on the 6th. As for Benton, they have also already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Carrollton on the 4th.
