JSerra Catholic's tournament run continued when they took on Phoenix Country Day on Saturday. JSerra Catholic fell just short of Phoenix Country Day by a score of 45-43. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 181st in California, while the Eagles are ranked 18th in Arizona).

Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a hard 60-44 fall against Clovis. The contest marked the Cardinals' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

JSerra Catholic now has a losing record at 6-7. As for Cardinal Newman, their loss dropped their record down to 7-3.
