Basketball Game Preview: Animo Bunche Stallions vs. Central City Value Jaguars

Animo Bunche is 1-9 against Central City Value since December of 2018 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Animo Bunche Stallions will host the Central City Value Jaguars at 3:30 p.m. Both have allowed few points on average, (Animo Bunche: 25.7, Central City Value: 24.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Animo Bunche played against Annenberg and won via forfeit.

Central City Value is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They took their contest on Monday with ease, bagging a 55-4 win over Animo Venice. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Jaguars considering their 15-point performance the game before.

Central City Value found their leader in sophomore Scarlet Zelaya, who almost dropped a double-double on 19 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Zelaya has scored all season. Kimberly Jacinto was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on nine points and 15 boards.

Central City Value smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 42 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 21 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

Central City Value has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 16.6 points per game. As for Animo Bunche, their victory ended a four-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-6.

Animo Bunche might still be hurting after the 38-12 loss they got from Central City Value when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Animo Bunche avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
