Baseball Recap: Vidalia Heritage Academy Takes a Loss

Vidalia Heritage Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost an 11-10 heartbreaker at the hands of the First Preparatory Christian Academy Highlanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Highlanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-4 last Monday.

Greer Posey put in work while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and five unearned) runs off five hits. Posey was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with four RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Pearson O'Neal made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 3-for-3. Vidalia Heritage Academy is 2-1 when O'Neal posts two or more runs, but 6-10 otherwise. Jake Beasley was another key player, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances.

Vidalia Heritage Academy's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for First Preparatory Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-15.

While Vidalia Heritage Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
