Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Kaleigh Carr and Myla Emery Lead Minden to Victory

Minden won the last time they faced Broken Bow and things went their way on Thursday too. The Whippets put the hurt on the Indians with a sharp 52-27 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Whippets.

Minden was led to victory by Myla Emery and Kaleigh Carr. Emery dropped a double-double with 19 points and ten boards, while Carr went 6-for-9 to rack up 16 points and five rebounds. What's more, Carr also posted a 67% field goal percentage, which is the highest she's achieved since back in January. Another player making a difference was Riley Eden, who posted six points and five boards.

When it comes to explaining why Broken Bow lost, don't look at Jayden Gaffney. Despite the final result, she scored five points and four steals. Jaycee Staples also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Minden's record now sits at 3-1. As for Broken Bow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

Minden has already played their next game, a 54-29 loss against Central City on the 16th. As for Broken Bow, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 42-34 win against St. Paul on the 12th.
