The Flint River Academy Wildcats will square off against the Skipstone Academy Warriors at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Flint River Academy will be strutting in after a win while Skipstone Academy will be coming in after a defeat.
On Tuesday, Flint River Academy made easy work of Heritage Preparatory and carried off a 13-1 victory. Considering the Wildcats have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Brack Spangler was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

In other batting news, J. Stanton Pritchard and Sullivan Jones did most of the damage at the plate: Pritchard went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Jones went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Jones a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eli Phillips, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Skipstone Academy suffered their closest loss since April 23, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of Central Christian by a score of 8-6. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Like Flint River Academy, Skipstone Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Jace Wilson. On the mound, he tossed four innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Wilson was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Braden Snider made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. Carter Cook was another key player, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
The win made it two in a row for Flint River Academy and bumps their season record up to 12-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Skipstone Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-12.
Flint River Academy took their win against Skipstone Academy in their previous matchup back in March by a conclusive 10-0 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
