Basketball Game Preview: Sherman Oaks CES Knights vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

Sherman Oaks CES hasn't had much luck against Cleveland recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. Having just played yesterday, the Knights will jump right back in to play the Cavaliers at 11:00 a.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Sherman Oaks CES saw some tournament action on Wednesday. They took a 47-36 hit to the loss column at the hands of Simi Valley.

Meanwhile, Cleveland didn't have quite enough to beat Holy Martyrs Armenian on Saturday and fell 50-47.

Despite the loss, Cleveland saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Melanie Paz posted 17 points and four steals. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for Paz. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Ward-Bourlier, who put up seven points along with ten boards and four steals.

Sherman Oaks CES' defeat dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Cleveland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-8.

Sherman Oaks CES took a serious blow against Cleveland in their previous meeting back in November of 2021, falling 64-32. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
