Baseball Game Preview: Gainesville Red Elephants vs. Milton Eagles

The Gainesville Red Elephants will head out on the road to square off against the Milton Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.

Gainesville is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Milton 11-5 on Thursday. The win was a breath of fresh air for the Red Elephants as it put an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Cohen Miller made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits. Gainesville is 2-1 when Miller allowsone or fewer earned runs, but 1-10 otherwise. Miller was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-5.

In other batting news, Adrian Medina was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits. Another player making a difference was CJ Saudarg, who scored two runs while going 3-for-5.

Gainesville was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .415. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Milton's loss dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Gainesville, their victory was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 3-11.
