Volleyball Preview: Kimberly Papermakers vs. Hortonville Polar Bears
After both having extra time off, the Kimberly Papermakers and the Hortonville Polar Bears will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.
Kimberly had won nine straight road games dating back to last season and Emma Tesch did her part to make it ten on Thursday. The Papermakers were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Neenah with plenty of help from Tesch, who had 19 assists and five digs. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 12 assists per game.
Kimberly never let Neenah on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-16, 25-18, 25-22.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Hortonville, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They blew past Kaukauna 3-0 on Thursday.
Hortonville was especially dominant in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-16, 25-21.
Hortonville's win bumped their record up to 16-13. As for Kimberly, their victory bumped their record up to 27-13.
