Basketball Game Preview: Inderkum Tigers vs. Ponderosa Bruins

Inderkum has gone a perfect 4-0 against Ponderosa recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Inderkum Tigers will face off against the Ponderosa Bruins at 7:30 p.m. Inderkum will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Last Tuesday, Inderkum was fully in charge, breezing past Rio Americano 52-19. The Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten contests by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Inderkum to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jamiah Fontenberry, who posted 17 points. Fontenberry's evening made it four games in a row in which she has scored at least 17 points. Aniyah Bruhn was another key player, putting up 14 points.

Meanwhile, Ponderosa didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Vista del Lago on Tuesday, but they still walked away with a 47-42 victory. Given the Bruins' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 113th, while the Eagles are ranked 315th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Inderkum's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 20-7. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 27.0 points over those games. As for Ponderosa, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 24-3.

Inderkum was able to grind out a solid win over Ponderosa in their previous meeting back in January, winning 44-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Inderkum since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
