Softball Recap: Piedmont Now 10-3 over Last 13 Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Riverdale Ridge, Piedmont was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Southmoore SaberCats by a score of 6-2. This was payback for the Wildcats, who suffered a 3-1 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Piedmont is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Southmoore, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Piedmont will challenge rival Jenks at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 3.8, the Trojans 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Southmoore is set to face off against their familiar foe Muskogee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
