Baseball Recap: Upson-Lee Comes Up Short

Upson-Lee extended their losing streak to four on Monday, dropping them down to 9-16. They lost 8-2 to the Trinity Christian Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Knights of the 6-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2025.

As for Trinity Christian, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-10. Considering they have won seven matchups by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

For Trinity Christian's part, Chase Porter tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Fran-J Confessor, who fired off two home runs and three RBI while going 3-for-4. Trinity Christian is undefeated when Confessor posts one or more home runs, but 9-10 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Thimas Thigpen, who went 2-for-4 with one home run.

While Upson-Lee had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
