Basketball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson lost against Diego Rivera back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Jefferson Democrats lost 57-33 to the Diego Rivera Huskies. The Democrats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Diego Rivera was led to victory by Desiree Aguillon and Brianna Collins. Aguillon posted 25 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds, while Collins dropped a double-double on 27 points and ten steals. The game was Collins' fifth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Adriana Munoz, who scored no points along with eight boards and five steals.

Jefferson now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Diego Rivera, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their third straight on the road.

Jefferson will challenge Manual Arts at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Diego Rivera, they will square off against West Adams at 3:00 p.m. on Friday.
