Volleyball Recap: Modesto Christian Comes Up Short

Modesto Christian lost against Gustine back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Crusaders fell 3-1 to the Reds.

The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-14, 23-25, 25-10.

Gustine's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Adamaris Sierra led the charge by getting 13 kills, seven digs, and three aces. Sierra has been hot, having posted five or more kills the last five times she's played. Jaclynn Lopez was another key player, getting seven kills, six digs, and six aces.

Modesto Christian's loss dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Gustine, their victory ended a ten-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 4-8.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Modesto Christian will challenge rival Waterford at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Gustine is set to face off against their familiar foe Stone Ridge Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
