Softball Recap: Kearney Catholic Continues Home Dominance on Tuesday

Kearney Catholic won against Southern Valley/Alma on Thursday with 12 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Tuesday. Everything went the Stars' way against the Polk County Slammers as they made off with a 12-1 win. The Stars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 21 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Raegan Ruyle was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tessa Colling, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted over her last 13 games. Kynlee Ruyle was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Kearney Catholic kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Polk County only managed two.

Kearney Catholic's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Polk County, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last nine contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-21 record this season.

As of now, neither Kearney Catholic nor Polk County have any future games scheduled.
