Basketball Recap: Ventura Takes Down Crean Lutheran in a Playoff Battle

Ventura had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They took down the Crean Lutheran Saints 53-38 on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ventura to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brinley Anderson, who dropped a double-double with 22 points and 17 rebounds. Anderson is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as she's posted one of at least 45% in the last four games she's played. Kailee Staniland was another key player, putting up 22 points and five boards.

Ventura's win bumped their record up to 27-3. As for Crean Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 23-6.

Coming up, Ventura will square off against Rancho Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Rancho Christian's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches. Crean Lutheran does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
