Soccer Recap: Weed Comes Up Short

After flying high against Trinity on Thursday, Weed came back down to earth. The Cougars lost 4-1 to the Mt. Shasta Bears on Saturday. Weed were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 3-0.

Their goal came courtesy of Pharoah Andrews Abakah, who's now up to 39 this season.

Weed's defeat ended a three-match streak of away wins and brought them to 10-7. As for Mt. Shasta, their victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-6.

Coincidentally, Weed and Mt. Shasta will both be playing Tulelake the next time they take the pitch. The Bears will head out to face the Honkers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, while the Cougars will host them at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
