Football Game Preview: Ottawa Cyclones vs. Tonganoxie Chieftains

Ottawa hasn't had much luck against Tonganoxie recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Cyclones will look to defend their home field against the Chieftains. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Ottawa is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 39 points two weeks ago, they were much more limited against Louisburg on Friday. They fell 20-13 to the Wildcats.

Meanwhile, Tonganoxie was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 21-17 to Eudora.

Tonganoxie's loss dropped their record down to 4-3. As for Ottawa, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 4-3.

Ottawa and Tonganoxie were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in October of 2024, but Ottawa suffered an agonizing 38-37 loss. Thankfully for the Cyclones, Talon Langford (who rushed for 39 yards and a pair of scores, and also threw for 129 yards and two TDs) won't be suiting up this time.
