Basketball Game Preview: Antioch Panthers vs. Heritage Patriots

Antioch has won three straight games at home, while Heritage has won three straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. The Antioch Panthers will host the Heritage Patriots at 6:30 p.m. Antioch will be strutting in after a win while Heritage will be coming in after a defeat.

On Saturday, Antioch didn't have too much trouble with Silver Creek as they won 46-28.

Meanwhile, Heritage suffered their closest loss since December 17, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of Pittsburg by a score of 46-44. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Patriots came into the contest with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Pirates are ranked 528th).

Antioch will need to focus on slowing down Payton Ladrido, one of several Heritage players who made an impact when they last played. She posted ten points and three steals. Olachi Nwosu was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.

Even though they lost, Heritage smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 22 consecutive matchups.

Antioch has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 12-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.2 points over those games. As for Heritage, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-10.
