Baseball Recap: John Milledge Academy Wins Going Away Against Brentwood

John Milledge Academy won the last time they faced Brentwood and things went their way on Tuesday too. The John Milledge Academy Trojans put the hurt on the Brentwood War Eagles with a sharp 8-2 victory. The Trojans might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.

Graysen Paradise and Kolt McMichael made a splash while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Paradise struck out ten batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off seven hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, McMichael tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those ten strikeouts gave Paradise a new career-high. At the plate, Paradise went 1-for-3 with one home run, while McMichael scored a run while going 3-for-4. That home run was Paradise's first of the season.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was David Todd, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.

John Milledge Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

John Milledge Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-2. As for Brentwood, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. John Milledge Academy will host Strong Rock Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. John Milledge Academy's pitching crew has only allowed 3.1 runs per game this season, so Strong Rock Christian's hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Brentwood, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Edmund Burke Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Edmund Burke Academy knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past three contests -- so hopefully Brentwood likes a good challenge.
