Softball Recap: Pace Academy Knights vs. Westminster Wildcats
Pace Academy blew Westminster out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Monday Westminster got their revenge. The Knights fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 7-5. That makes it the first time this season the Knights have let down their home crowd.
Megan Wrigley spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered five earned (and two unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Katie Wrigley made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and got on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run and two stolen bases. Claire Jowers was another key player, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Pace Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 9-7. As for Westminster, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
