Baseball Recap: Wheeler Comes Up Short

Wheeler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 15-5 to the Kennesaw Mountain Mustangs. The Wildcats were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in March of 2024.

Wheeler got a good showing from Kenric Nair, who tossed 3.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run but no hits.

On the hitting side, Emanuel 'Manny' Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Kennesaw Mountain, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to a perfect 2-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Wheeler will venture away from home to challenge Hiram at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Kennesaw Mountain, they are taking a road trip to square off against Paulding County at 5:55 p.m. on February 24th.
