Softball Recap: Limon's Losing Streak Snapped at Ten Games

Limon had lost ten straight, but after bumping their record up to 2-13 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They never let the Burlington Cougars get on the board and left with a 12-0 win. This was a revenge game for the Badgers: when they faced off against the Cougars two weeks ago, they had to take a 9-8 loss.

Bryleigh Fox was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. Fox was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of her three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August.

In other batting news, Audra Kollath was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August. Another player making a difference was Alex Kuhns, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

As for Burlington, their defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 6-6. Having soared to a lofty 13 runs in the game before, their shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

On Burlington's side, they saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jasmin Robles, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Robles is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Limon beat Burlington by a score of 18-12 later that day.
