Softball Recap: Centennial Knights vs. Wheeler Wildcats
Centennial had to endure a six-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They never let the Wheeler Wildcats get on the board and left with a 15-0 win on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Knights needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.
Maria Mrus was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Mrus was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in August.
In other batting news, Katherine Sotola was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August of 2024. Sophia De Oliveira was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Centennial was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
