Football Recap: Owen Curtis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ravenswood over Sissonville

Ravenswood scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 28-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sissonville Indians.

Several Red Devils players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Owen Curtis, who rushed for 65 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 65 yards and one TD. Ravenswood also got a significant boost from Ralphie Rhodes, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 81 yards.

Ravenswood didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Kalem Hupp.

Ravenswood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Sissonville, the win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Ravenswood will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Roane County at 7:30 p.m. on October 10. As for Sissonville, they will head out to square off against PikeView at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
