Softball Recap: Platteview Takes a Loss

Platteview was the 13-7 winner over Plattsmouth when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Trojans came up short against the Blue Devils on Thursday, falling 9-3. The Trojans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Olivia Stites made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Reese Lingle, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Platteview's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Plattsmouth, their victory bumped their record up to 8-9.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Platteview will face off against Omaha North at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Plattsmouth, they will square off against Yutan-Mead at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
