West Point is 2-8 against Middlesex since May of 2021 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Pointers will look to defend their home field against the Chargers at 5:00 p.m. West Point has given up an average of 11.2 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
West Point came up short against King William on Tuesday, falling 14-5.
West Point saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ethan Healy, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Meanwhile, Middlesex won against Mathews last Friday with 16 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Thursday. The Chargers were the clear victors by a 16-6 margin over the Blue Devils. The Chargers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by eight runs or more this season.
Bryson Bulgin was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Middlesex is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 5-7 otherwise. Bulgin was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2025.
In other batting news, Middlesex got a massive performance out of Henry Fleet, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Fleet has posted since back in March. Jacob Nowell was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs and three RBI.
Middlesex always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .667. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Middlesex is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for West Point, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-11.
