College Park skates past Concord with ease

Recap: College Park Falcons vs. Concord Bears

The College Park Falcons posted their biggest victory since November 30, 2023 on Saturday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Concord 56-26 at home. Given College Park's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 336th, while Concord is ranked 972nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead College Park to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nyela Pete, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Another player making a difference was Marley Young, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.

Despite the loss, Concord had strong showings from Holly Hopkins, who scored six points, and Lamiyah Washington, who scored four points along with 13 steals. Washington is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.

College Park is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Concord, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. College Park will face off against Alameda at 10:45 a.m. on Monday. As for Concord, they will head out on the road to take on Swett at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
