Football Recap: St. Paul Comes Up Short

St. Paul fell victim to Central Christian and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Cougars and fell 46-0. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 54th, while the Cougars are ranked fifth).

Central Christian's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Piercen Huff, who rushed for 167 yards and four scores on only 12 carries. Those four rushing touchdowns gave Huff a new career-high. Another rusher making a difference was Konnor Sullivan, who rushed for 105 yards and one TD on only seven carries.

St. Paul now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Central Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.

Coming up, St. Paul will host Axtell at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Indians will need to watch out since the Eagles have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Central Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Argonia/Attica at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. That game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Huff and Carson Vineyard.
